Ribbon Bars

When medals are not being worn it is required for those in uniform such as Police, Customs, AVSEC, Fire Service, St Johns Ambulance/Order of St John and members of the NZ Defence Force to wear bars bearing strips of ribbons denoting those medals awarded.'

We are manufacturers of ribbon bars to numerous services. We have the correct brass bars and clips made to create customised ribbon bars. Bars are affixed to the uniform with a clutch pin and prong. This causes minimal damage to clothing.

For Police, Fire and Ambulance Services were are able to plastic coat the ribbon bar to provide a wipe clean surface.

Ribbon bars are worn in a maximum row of 4, thereafter another row is required (except in the case of 5 medals in which case they are worn as one row of 3 and one of 2 above). NZDF presently wear their ribbons with  maximum of 3 per row.
